Odell Beckham Jr. appears to have Cowboys front of mind over Chiefs, other teams

Odell Beckham Jr. mentioned a few teams he’s considering, and the Chiefs were among the notable absentees.
With the NFL trade deadline now behind us, the only way teams can upgrade their roster is by signing free agents. This year, Odell Beckham Jr. is the crown jewel in that department.
Beckham is recovering from an ACL injury and was thought to be ready by November, but it looks like that may now be December.
Plenty of teams have been connected via actual rumors or via speculation, but on Sunday morning two new tidbits of information dropped that seem to indicate it could be the Cowboys who surprise the world and end up with Odell Beckham Jr.
First, Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo reported that Beckham has gained some interest from the Cowboys. If you’ve paid attention to Jerry Jones’ comments about making a Deion Sanders-like move to improve the roster, it makes a lot of sense. Sanders was a mid-season free-agent acquisition.
Cowboys mentioned alongside Bills, Packers by Odell Beckham Jr.
Speaking on an episode of Complex’s Volume, Beckham said, “Whether it’s Buffalo, whether it was Green Bay calling, Cowboys, whether reunion with the Giants, like, I want to be able to spill like my last… these next three or four years into somewhere where I could buy a home, like I could call this place home.”
A couple of interesting tidbits here.
Firstly, the Giants weren’t seriously brought up at all previously, so the fact that he mentions his former team is of note.
Second, it’s subtle, but he does reference the Packers in a past tense. Are they still in the running?
Outside of that, he mentions the Bills and Cowboys. For Dallas, it furthers the parallels between Deion Sanders and Beckham. Sanders, when he signed with the Giants, spent multiple years there. Beckham wants somewhere he can be for a few years. If you’re basing your Beckham prediction on tea leaves, the Cowboys are looking like a more likely destination by the day.
Notably, also, the Chiefs, Rams, and Ravens were all left out. Maybe Beckham just rattled off a few random teams, but it’s hard to believe that there was absolutely zero reasoning to the four that he chose. Why weren’t those three mentioned?
The Chiefs did just get Kadarius Toney in a trade with the Giants, so maybe they decided they don’t need receiving help anymore. But the Ravens could absolutely still use him. And the Rams obviously are closely connected, having employed him last year on their Super Bowl run. Perhaps they aren’t offering him the multi-year contract he desires.
Could be an interesting few weeks with Beckham.
