2. Jared Goff — Detroit Lions

The margin between Goff and Rodgers isn’t significant, which says a lot about what Rodgers should be capable of and what he hasn’t achieved this year.

Goff actually leads the NFC North with a passer rating of 91.8 this season and goes toe-to-toe with Rodgers and Kirk Cousins in most statistical categories.

The Lions have certainly struggled this season. The win over Green Bay was just their second of the year. However, Goff has produced some strong performances even in losing efforts. He certainly did enough in games against the Seahawks and Dolphins defensive struggles buried the team.

Goff shouldn’t be the second-best QB in the division. He’s put himself in that spot by getting things done offensively at home, even if there’s still a lot to be desired in road performances. The next two weeks at the Bears and Giants will determine if he can maintain a step ahead of Rodgers.
