The 2023 NFL Draft is still five months away, but after nine weeks of NFL football, we are starting to see team needs, and draft order.
With nine weeks down on the 2022 NFL schedule, some teams should already have their eyes on the 2023 NFL Draft next offseason. This is a year where the have-nots have no chance of making it to the playoffs, even with half of season remaining.
Here, we look at what the first round could look like next April, with the order per Tankathon.com.
2023 NFL Mock Draft: Top-10 picks loaded with WR talent
After nine weeks of the 2022 NFL season, the Houston Texans still only have one win and are currently holding the No. 1 overall pick in 2023. Of course, things could change from now until the end of the season, but they seem like a good bet to get whatever draft prospect they want next April.
Here, with pick No. 1 overall, the team hits the reset button at quarterback, drafting Ohio State star CJ Stroud. The move enables Davis Mills to go to the backup role, one he would be outstanding in while giving the franchise a legitimate playmaker at the position.
The Carolina Panthers have had a revolving door at quarterback this season, and during their loss, this past weekend, went back to Baker Mayfield. It is clear that they are going to be in the market for a new signal-caller next offseason, and whether it is a draft pick, or a veteran free agent, changes are coming.
Holding the No. 2 overall pick, Carolina rolls the dice on a first-round quarterback, adding the talented Bryce Young from Alabama. This kid has a ton of upside, and if he can get the support he needs in Carolina, he could turn into a star.
