Panthers quarterback Baker Mayfield didn’t play against the Falcons but that didn’t stop him from celebrating the win in a bizarre fashion.
Baker Mayfield was pumped after the Panthers beat the Falcons on Thursday Night Football, 25-15. So pumped he decided to risk a head injury.
Instead of giving his teammates a celebratory hug, the backup quarterback decided to headbutt them as they came off the field.
It should be noted that Mayfield was not wearing a helmet while completing these headbutts.

I’ve seen Baker Mayfield do a lot of inexplicable things but this one may take the cake https://t.co/0Sh2smFjY7

That’s certainly a choice from Mayfield. Half of his teammates were apparently shocked by it. But if he wants to split open his forehead, that’s on him. He’s always been a bit intense. This might just be taking it a bit too far.
Twitter had some thoughts on it.

Baker Mayfield, whose commercial-starring fame went to his head, just couldn't resist getting in on tonight's act with a helmet-less head butt of a helmeted Panther.

Man, poor Baker. My boy rather be concussed that back up the XFL legend…

Mayfield didn’t need to put his helmet on at any point on Thursday night. PJ Walker took care of business as the starter with 108 yards on 10-of-16 passing. It was a quiet night for the QB but that’s exactly what Carolina needed.
His performance contrasted that of Marcus Mariota, who threw two touchdowns but also had an interception and took five sacks while making poor decisions and missing throws.
Meanwhile, Walker handed the ball off to D’Onta Foreman and that was enough.
The running back once again went off against his former team. In the rain, Foreman rushed for 130 yards and a touchdown on 31 carries.
D'Onta Foreman absorbing the essences of Derrick Henry and Barry Sanders before every Falcons game seems deeply unfair

Atlanta’s defense didn’t exactly make it hard on Carolina. Two Falcons defenders even blocked eachother on a Laviska Shenault touchdown.
The Panthers may be 3-7 but shockingly they’re not completely out of the NFC South race with this victory. The Falcons fell to 4-6 in second place behind the Buccaneers, who have a narrow lead in the division at 4-5.
