3. Carmelo Hayes has shown the elite versatility on NXT to be a massive star

Carmelo Hayes has it all. He’s the best inside the ring and the best overall on the mic. He talks the talk of a heel, but he is someone I could also see working in the future as a face. He’s a guy that the crowd loves regardless.

Along with his partner Trick Williams, Hayes has had a memorable reign as NXT North American Champion and just recently lost it to Wes Lee at NXT Halloween Havoc after the title was vacated by Shawn Michaels.

The difference between a lot of superstars on the roster and Hayes is that he is already a superstar. He possesses extreme confidence and backs it up in the ring.

If you’re not impressed by his matches with Oro Mensah, Wes Lee, Sikoa, Grimes, or Grayson Waller, then look no further than Hayes’ best match of his career against Smackdown superstar Ricochet for the NXT North American Championship.

A lot has happened in a year since Hayes became the “A-Champion.”

After all of the madness on Monday Night Raw regarding the United States Championship with Austin Theory, Bobby Lashley, and Rollins, Hayes went to Twitter to address all of his fans tweeting him about accepting Rollins’ open challenge for the title.

He’s got a loyal fanbase built, and the WWE Universe awaits the day when Hayes gets the well-deserved call-up. It may not be as soon as we want, because we may see a reign as NXT Champion first, but he is ready now.
