The Denver Broncos punted the football a lot in Week 10, due to the inefficiency of the offense led by quarterback Russell Wilson.

The Denver Broncos entered their Week 9 bye on a high note after they defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars in London. That would certainly be a game that the Broncos could build off of entering their second half of the season. Instead, the opposite happened. As in, it was the same old issues for the Broncos — inefficiency on offense.

Facing off against the Tennessee on Sunday, the Broncos offense, led by quarterback Russell Wilson, was unable to do much. That caused the team to punt the ball — a lot. How much you ask? Nine times.

The Broncos lost 17-10 to fall to 3-6 on the season.

Let’s just say that the jokes were flying on Twitter, at the expense of Wilson and the Broncos.

Broncos punted the ball a lot vs. Titans

Granted, the Titans weren’t any better, as they punted the football eight times. Yet, the Titans were victorious, and score more touchdowns than the Broncos.

Denver actually held a 10-0 lead late in the third quarter, but surrendered 17 unanswered points to Tennessee. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill made his return after missing Tennessee’s previous two games due to an ankle injury. The veteran managed to throw two touchdown passes to wide receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, one of which was a 63-yarder on a flea-flicker.

Wilson didn’t have the easiest of times under center. Wide receiver Jerry Jeudy was carted off the football field with an ankle injury. That, and Tennessee’s defense sacked Wilson six times for a loss of 38 yard, and hit him 18 times.

He threw a late interception with a chance to tie the game late in the fourth quarter. At Tennessees own 25-yard line, Wilson threw a pass intended for Courtland Sutton, but it was picked off by cornerback Terrance Mitchell.

In the game, Wilson completed 21-of-42 pass attempts for 286 yards and one touchdown.

Next week, the Broncos will look to get back in the win column when they face the Las Vegas Raiders. Maybe they won’t have to punt the ball as much.
