Quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce led the Kansas City Chiefs to yet another huge win over the Los Angeles Chargers.
Whenever the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers meet in primetime, the games are an entertaining watch. Even though the Chargers looked as though they were heading to a shocking win over the Chiefs, they made the mistake of leaving too much time on the clock for quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Trailing 27-23 with under two minutes remaining, Mahomes led the team downfield, culminating in him connecting with star tight end Travis Kelce for his third touchdown of the game. That was enough to give the Chiefs the 30-27 victory.
Twitter users shared their thoughts about the Chiefs stars leading the team to a victory against the Chargers once again.

When it’s all said and done. It’s going be hard to say Kelce isn’t the GOAT. He’s not slowing dwn at all. He can keep this up for at least 2-3 yrs.

For such a defensive genius Staley sure does like to cover Kelce with guys who aren’t Derwin James

Patrick Mahomes is now 24-3 in his career against the AFC West, an absurd 14-0 on the road against the AFC West, and somehow has won TWENTY FIVE STRAIGHT games in November & December.

Easy work. Give him the MVP now.#Mahomes#Ferrari #Chiefs
Kelce was unreal throughout the game, as he proved once again to be a matchup nightmare for the Chargers. In their first meeting this season, Los Angeles seemingly had him figured out limiting him to just 51 yards and zero touchdowns on five receptions. The Charger’s couldn’t replicate that success in Week 11, as Kelce caught 6-of-10 targets for 115 yards and three touchdowns.
Mahomes, meanwhile, threw 20 completions for 329 yards and three touchdowns on 34 attempts.
The Chiefs overcame injuries suffered as the game progressed, including to safety Juan Thornhill, running back Clyde Edwards Helaire, and wide receiver Kadarius Toney, the latter of whom was acquired at the trade deadline. The young guys stepped up on offense, particularly Skyy Moore. The second-round draft pick caught five passes for 63 yards on six targets.
It was yet another heartbreaking loss for the Chargers. Quarterback Justin Herbert seemingly threw a game-winning touchdown to Joshua Palmer. Again, they left too much time on the clock for Mahomes to march downfield and connect with Kelce.
Herbert completed 23-of-30 attempts for 280 yards and two touchdowns, while throwing one interception on their final drive of the game.
The Chiefs have now pulled away further from the rest of their AFC West rivals. They look to continue their quest for the top seed in the AFC with a win over the Los Angeles Rams next week. The Chargers, meanwhile, will look to get above .500 again with a victory over the Arizona Cardinals.
