2. NFL Teams That May Be Frauds – Philadelphia Eagles

The bloom has come off the rose quickly for the Eagles, who were the last undefeated team in the league on Monday before losing to the Washington Commanders. Philadelphia followed up that performance by struggling mightily against the Indianapolis Colts, winning by just a point after Jalen Hurts ran in the go-ahead touchdown with 1:20 left to go.

Critics of the Eagles have pointed to their schedule, which has been pillow soft over their first ten games. A win over Minnesota in Week 2 was Philadelphia’s best victory, but here is a list of who else they have topped:

  • Detroit
  • Washington
  • Jacksonville
  • Arizona
  • Dallas (with Cooper Rush)
  • Pittsburgh
  • Houston
  • Indianapolis

That isn’t exactly a murderer’s row of opponents for the Eagles, who have won four of those games by one score and been the beneficiary of some extremely positive turnover luck. It is fair to wonder that if a few bounces of the football go the other way whether Philadelphia would still be 9-1 after their first ten games.

The schedule is going to be much more difficult down the stretch as the Eagles face the Cowboys again (with Dak Prescott), the New York Giants twice and the Tennessee Titans. Having the win over the Vikings is huge for home-field advantage but the NFC East could be in play if they stumble down the stretch.
