Former Eagles Pro Bowl RB takes shot at Cowboys, Dak Prescott on Thanksgiving

Former NFL running back LeSean McCoy took a shot at the Dallas Cowboys and Dak Prescott during their Thanksgiving game.

The New York Giants are missing their top two cornerbacks for their Thursday night matchup against the Cowboys, but it didn’t matter much in the first half. Two early interceptions of Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott suggests that either the Giants are playing above their weight, or Prescott is missing the mark.

Most of that blame falls on Prescott, at least so far. Dak is a Pro Bowl-caliber passer at his best, but since his return from injury this season, he’s struggled to find a rhythm.

Even with CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup now healthy, Prescott cannot consistently find his top targets. Would Cooper Rush be a better option?

LeSean McCoy, who made six Pro Bowls and had the most success with Dallas’ rival, the Philadelphia Eagles, had plenty to say about Dak on Twitter.

The Cowboys pay Prescott a lot of money to play like a top-tier quarterback. He shows flashes of just that, but injury struggles have forced him to the sidelines on a frequent basis the last few seasons.

Dak is just one game removed from a 40-3 beatdown of the Minnesota Vikings, a fellow playoff contender in the NFC. In that game, Prescott threw for 276 yards and two touchdowns, good for a 139 QB rating.

Even with the targets he already has on the team, Prescott wants more. He made a pitch for Odell Beckham Jr. at practice this week:

“He knows how much I want him here, and a lot of these guys in this locker room I’ve seen have reached out on their own in different ways to making sure that he understands that this is a team that he can help. And we want him to come help,” Prescott said.

Regardless of the weapons at his disposal, Dak must play better than he has in this first half if Dallas is to reach their ultimate goal.
