8. Cam Akers, Los Angeles Rams

The Rams just surprisingly released Darrell Henderson Jr., who was previously their starting running back. This leaves Cam Akers and rookie Kyren Williams as the two main backs in the Rams’ backfield. Akers had his highest volume of the season in Week 11, and could build on that this week.

The Kansas City Chiefs have had a middle-of-the-pack run defense. Their good games against the run are usually due to the opposing team abandoning the run because they fall into a deficit. This could happen with the Rams in Week 12, but Akers is still a volume-based option.

7. Kenyan Drake, Baltimore Ravens

Kenyan Drake had a disappointing Week 11 with Gus Edwards missing the game. He played well behind Justice Hill, and ran for 46 yards on 10 carries. This week, Edwards has still been battling his injury in practice, setting Drake up for possibly another expanded role.

The Jaguars allow the 11th-most fantasy points per game to running backs, and Drake has generally been good when given more touches. Keep an eye on Edwards’ status this weekend, and plug Drake in if Edwards is again inactive.
