Not all college football programs are confident enough to make the changes they need to.

With the college football coaching carousel in full tilt, it would be quite the shock if these three teams made a change at the helm this offseason.

Whether it is money, reputation or a program’s overall pecking order in the college football landscape, these three men can rest easy at night, knowing they will have a job at their current place of employment well into next season. Of course, they could walk away from bad situations they have created because they hold all the cards. It is good to be rich, but better to be powerful.

Here are three college football head coaches who should be out of a job, but will still be employed.

If not for money and recruiting, Jimbo Fisher would be out of Texas A&M by now

Jimbo Fisher’s fifth year at Texas A&M did not go according to plan. In fact, it went about as bad as possible. The Aggies, who were the No. 6 team in the nation in the initial AP Top 25 Poll, went 5-7 overall and 2-6 in SEC play. They lost six straight SEC games and dropped an unthinkable one in the non-conference at home to App State. At least they still beat LSU over Thanksgiving Weekend.

If not for the No. 1 recruiting class from 2022 and an $86 million buyout, Fisher would have been kicked to the curb like his old Tallahassee Christmas tree. Although ending the year with home wins over UMass and LSU attempted to stop the bleeding, Fisher firmly enters the 2023 college football season on the hot seat. The Aggies might need to double their win total for him to stay.

Nobody in College Station can say that Fisher is doing a great job at the helm of the A&M program.
