Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson has had quite a disappointing season, and he’s reportedly losing some of his team.
Things just keep looking worse and worse for Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson as the season continues. He reportedly “lost some people in the locker room.”
According to @TomPelissero, Nathaniel Hackett has NOT lost the Broncos locker room, but…

When talking about Russell Wilson’s social media posts, showing up to camp in his own jersey, etc, @TomPelissero said “all of that stuff went on in Seattle” & the Broncos “were aware of it. They did their homework in the process.”

Things aren’t looking great for Denver at this point, either, as they’re stuck with him for another few years. He should’ve been able to help the Broncos much more than he has, but he’s having hands-down the worst season of his career.
Wilson’s been so bad that he’s gaining attention around the league for it. The Carolina Panthers mocked him on the field. He got Patrick Mahomes pushed out of primetime for Week 14. The Broncos sit last in the AFC West with a 3-8 record. All-in-all, it’s just not working.
All hope is out the window for the rest of this season, but given the fact that he’s had some really good years with the Seattle Seahawks, slight hope can remain that he’ll do better next time around.
Hope remains for Broncos, Russell Wilson…sort of
Given that this is just one bad season among many good ones, there’s still potential for Wilson to positively impact Denver. He’ll have to work extremely hard to earn his teammates’ trust and respect, but a bounceback campaign in 2023 is achievable.
His past four seasons, in particular, were pretty solid with a total of 1,264 completions, a completion percentage of 66.3, 14,883 passing yards and 131 touchdowns. Last season was the weakest out of the past four and he did start to show some signs of slowing down, but not nearly to the extent that he is now.
Considering he’s 34-years-old, he could be losing some talent because of his age. It’s possible that he won’t reach his potential again, but given the fact that he faced such a sharp decline, it seems more likely that he regresses to the mean. For him, that ‘mean’ is slightly above average, but not up to the contract the Broncos are paying him. Sorry, Denver.
If he does progress and help bring Denver success in the future, hopefully he’ll gain lost approval from his teammates.
