2. NFL Teams That Should Be On Upset Alert In Week 13 – Washington Commanders

Few teams in the NFL have had a more stunning turnaround than the Washington Commanders, who were largely left for dead after a 1-4 start. Ron Rivera’s team has responded by winning six of their next seven games to surge into a playoff position with Taylor Heinicke providing a spark at quarterback in place of the injured Carson Wentz.

Heinicke took advantage of his fully secured status as Washington’s starter by putting together another efficient outing in the Commanders’ 19-13 win over the Atlanta Falcons. The key player for Washington in the game was running back Brian Robinson, who carried 18 times for 105 yards and caught a touchdown as he continued his inspiring comeback from a shooting incident prior to the season.

This week brings a huge divisional contest for the Commanders, who head to MetLife Stadium to take on the slumping New York Giants. Oddsmakers have set Washington as 2.5-point favorites but the Giants have been competitive all season long and could be getting several key players back from injury this week.

It is also worth mentioning that the only team Washington has beaten with a winning record over the past seven weeks is the Eagles. The other teams that the Commanders have beaten in this run are a combined 17-39-2 on the season, which could suggest that Washington is vulnerable to getting picked off on the road against a solid Giants team that is fighting for its own playoff lives.
