The Philadelphia Eagles and Miami Dolphins are among the NFL teams that find themselves on upset alert entering Week 14 of the season.
December has arrived in the NFL and the playoff picture is remarkably tight. The AFC alone has 12 of its 16 teams within two games of a playoff spot, which could cause some absolute chaos over the final five weeks of the regular season.
The teams that separate themselves from the pack will be the ones who manage to avoid critical upsets, something the Los Angeles Chargers couldnāt do in Week 13 when they lost a critical game to the Las Vegas Raiders. Letās take a look at three more teams that find themselves on upset alert in Week 14, beginning with the Chargersā opponent on Sunday Night Football.
3. NFL Teams That Should Be On Upset Alert In Week 14 ā Miami Dolphins
Week 13 wasnāt pretty for Miami, which went on the road and lost badly to a San Francisco 49ers team that lost its starting quarterback to a broken foot early in the game. Mr. Irrelevant himself, Brock Purdy, took over and shredded the Dolphinsā defense in a 33-17 blowout.
The Dolphins are remaining on the West Coast for Week 14 when they take on the reeling Chargers, who have lost three of their past four games. The odds favor the Dolphins, who are laying 3.5 points on the road in a game that was flexed into Sunday night to replace the awful Chiefs-Broncos matchup.
The fact that Miami opted to stay out west for the week should help but having to play a desperate team that really needs to win is a dangerous spot. Tua Tagovailoa may also be hampered by an ankle injury so it wouldnāt be shocking to see the Dolphins lose another West Coast game in Week 14.
