First, we start off with Murray. The quarterback scrambled up the field on the third play of the game, but appeared to plant his right leg awkwardly, causing it to buckle. That caused Murray to fall to the turf and clutch his knee. The cart arrived, and took Murray to the locker room. While he was listed as questionable to return, he was ruled out for the remainder of the game.
According to NFL Network national insider Ian Rapoport, the fear is that Murray suffered a serious knee injury.
Cardinals safety Marco Wilson was originally listed as questionable to return after leaving the football field. Later on, the team officially ruled him out for the remainder of the game due to a stinger.
Running back James Conner suffered an injury scare, but only checked out for a few plays. He returned, and scored a touchdown to give Arizona a 13-7 lead with under three minutes remaining in the first half.
The Patriots dealt with three injuries in the first half.
Wide receiver DeVante Parker could barely stand up following a play in the first quarter, but wasn’t checked out. He went to line up for the next play, but fellow wideout Nelson Agholor spotted Parker wasn’t right, so he called for the play to be shut down. You can see the play in question in the link above.
The Patriots ruled out Parker for the remainder of the game with a head injury.
Cornerback Jack Jones was also ruled out alongside Parker, but with a knee injury.
Finally, running back Rhamondre Stevenson had to be checked out by training staff late in the first quarter after he was tackled during a play. Stevenson was spotted on the sidelines without his jersey, and ESPN sideline reporter Lisa Salters confirmed that he was officially ruled out for the rest of the game.
It was a scary first half in terms of injuries, and five players between both the Patriots and Cardinals were removed from the game.
