Croatia vs. Morocco live stream World Cup 2022 third-place game on Dec. 17
World Cup semifinal losers Croatia and Morocco face off on Saturday, Dec. 17 at Khalifa International Stadium in Al Rayyan, Qatar for a shot at third place. Here’s how to watch.
Croatia and Morocco, two teams few expected would get this far at the World Cup, face off on Saturday for a chance at a third-place finish.
Morocco became the first African nation to ever reach a World Cup semifinal. They were defeated Wednesday by defending World Cup champions France 2-0.
Croatia, on the other hand, had gone on a magical run of their own. It was reminiscent of the one they went on four years ago, when they reached the World Cup final only to lose to France.
Croatia fell short of the final on Tuesday after they were defeated 3-0 by pre-tournament favorites Argentina.
Croatia previously finished third at the 1998 World Cup, defeating the Netherlands 2-1.
Croatian star Luka Modric will be playing in his final World Cup game, while Dominik Livakovic has arguably been the tournament’s best goalkeeper.
Morocco will once again have heavy home support after the Arab world galvanized in its support for the Atlas Lions. They feature PSG right back Achraf Hakimi and a defense that has allowed just three goals in six games.
Should the match end in a draw, extra time and penalty kicks would be needed to determined a winner. The team that finished third will share $27 million in prize money. Fourth-place finishers will get $25 million.
