The New York Giants hadn’t won a primetime game in 11 tries so they celebrated their Sunday Night Football victory over the Commanders with zeal.

Sunday Night Football had a lot on the line. It’s no wonder New York decided to enjoy their win to the fullest.

For Daniel Jones and comapny, it was their first primetime win since 2018. It was also a key matchup for the NFC playoff standings, keeping NY ahead of the Commanders and taking them one step closer to clinching a postseason berth.

After the game, the team’s official Twitter account went for it while fans had plenty to say as well.

The Commanders got on the board first with a first-quarter field goal from Joey Slye but New York turned the tide in the second quarter. First, Kayvon Thibodeaux forced a fumble and recovered it for a touchdown. Then, Saquon Barkley scored from three yards out with just under two minutes left in the first half.

The third quarter brought Washington back in it after Taylor Heinicke hit Jahan Dotson for a 19-yard touchdown. However, Joey Slye’s missed extra point change the equation of the rest of the game.

Graham Gano smashed two 50-yard field goals while Slye made up for his PAT miss with a 51-yarder as the two teams traded field goals into the waning moments of the fourth quarter.

Washington made it down to the five-yard line but New York forced a fumble to end that chance.

With under a minute to play, Heinicke got his team back into the red zone with the chance to tie the game. However, a killer penalty and a missed PI call helped keep them out of the endzone.

The rest of the night belonged to the Giants.
