1. Teams that could be in the mix to trade for Jakob Poeltl: Boston Celtics

It feels like the Boston Celtics have been a legitimate big man away from a championship for a few years now, especially last season. Having Al Horford back after a short hiatus certainly did the trick in getting the Celtics where they wanted to be down low a year ago.

Still, they could use a younger option that could play deeper into games and a few more minutes each night. Poeltl would offer the Spurs more of a true inside presence, too, with Horford being a different type of player at this stage of his career. Horford is more of a shooter now, at his age, and doesn’t offer as much inside as he once did.

Having more of a post presence in Poeltl would open up a lot more opportunities on the perimeter for the stars like Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. Not to mention, allowing Boston’s three-point shooters maybe a tad more space makes Poeltl an intriguing trade option.

Should the Celtics be able to trade for Poeltl, and even re-sign him next year, he would give Boston a true “Big 3” for years to come. With Poeltl, Tatum and Brown, the Celtics would be set up for multiple championship runs down the line.
