3 teams Rob Gronkowski could come out of retirement to join
1. Buffalo Bills
It would be the story of a lifetime. Gronk’s lifetime, that is.
When Rob Gronkowski was one year old, the 1990 Buffalo Bills were headed to their first Super Bowl. After four consecutive losses in the big game, Buffalo saw a drought that spanned two decades.
Then, Josh Allen arrived, and everything changed. Right now, Gronkowski could join the roster and change it all again.
Gronkowski grew up in the Buffalo area and was an avid Bills fan, and he’s spoken at length about how much he loves playing for a hometown crowd.
“It’s just a dream come true every single time you get to go to your hometown and play,” Gronkowski said in 2017. “I treat it as an honor to go back and play and I always get excited for it because you’re playing in front of your family and friends you grew up with.”
He said all that as a Patriot, a fierce divisional rival, yet Buffalo has never turned him away. Bills Mafia already sees Gronk as one of their own, and this would be a chance to make it official.
Once again, Gronkowski would give the team versatility, and the team could even use Dawson Knox and Gronkowski in tandem, confusing defenses even more. It wouldn’t hurt to have Gronkowski blocking for the run game, either.
If the Buffalo Bills finally make the Super Bowl again after all these years, it would be poetic for Gronkowski to be a part of fulfilling that destiny.
