Could the Braves sign Carlos Correa?

Not confident in Vaughn Grissom or any other in-house Dansby Swanson replacement? Then why not sign Correa instead.

At a shorter contract term, but higher AAV, Alex Anthopoulos could get in on the Correa chase. As of now, Atlanta doesn’t have any definitive plan to replace Swanson at shortstop after he left town and signed with the Chicago Cubs. Swanson’s price tag proved to be too high for Anthopoulos, but Correa is a far better overall shortstop.

Swanson was coming off a career-best season, and all signs pointed towards a regression to the mean in the years to come. Correa is still in the middle of his prime, and despite the concerning medicals, should remain an All-Star caliber shortstop for at least the next few years.

The Twins signed Correa to a two-year contract last offseason with one of the highest AAVs in baseball history. Were the Braves to match that, with perhaps a few more years attached, it could be exactly what Correa needs after this whole physical ordeal.
