Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott was hard on himself for throwing an interception in the win over the Eagles.

Despite defeating his NFC East rival, the Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott opened his post-game press conference by joking about throwing an easy interception.

Before taking questions from reporters, Prescott stated:

"“Alright, let’s start with the interception.”"

The comment elicited laughs from reporters, with Prescott himself smiling.

Prescott later added:

"“I don’t know if Josh Sweat has had an easier interception than that one.”"

Eagles defensive end Josh Sweat intercepted Prescott for a 42-yard pick-six. This was Sweat’s first career interception.

Cowboys: Dak Prescott has one of his best games of the season

Despite throwing an interception right into a defender’s hands, it did not take away from Dak Prescott having one of his best games this season.

Prescott was the Cowboys’ starter for Week 1 of the 2022 NFL Season, where he struggled against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Prescott would leave that game with a right thumb injury which caused him to miss 6-8 weeks. Prescott returned in Week 7 in a win over the Detroit Lions.

Against the Eagles, Prescott threw 347 yards on 27 completions from 35 attempts and three touchdown passes. He had this good of a performance despite being sacked six times by Philadelphia’s defense.

Prescott found receiver T.Y. Hilton in the third quarter on a 3rd & 30, which helped shift momentum to Dallas’ side. This was Hilton’s first reception in his first game since joining the Cowboys on December 12th after going unsigned all off-season and most of the regular season.

Prescott has 2,450 passing yards on the season and is completing 69.0 percent of his passes, the highest completion percentage of his career. He is also averaging 7.8 yards per pass attempt.

The Cowboys, with Prescott, are 8-3 against the Philadelphia Eagles. With his eight wins over Philadelphia, Prescott is 27-6 against his other NFC East rivals, including the New York Giants and Washington Commanders. He is 10-2 against New York and 9-1 against Washington.
