Top 5 Worst NFL Coaches, No. 1: Urban Meyer

For all the success that Urban Meyer enjoyed at the college level, he experienced the exact opposite in the NFL. For the most part, much of the team that resides in Jacksonville now are the same players that Meyer had during his one year in Jacksonville, and unlike Meyer, Doug Pederson has these players in the right spot, and they are very close to making the playoffs.

But back to Meyer, when he first came, despite the controversies that existed under his coaching tenures at Florida and Ohio State, he seemed to have the right mindset, and his record indicated it. In DUVAL county, it was beyond pathetic: 2-11 in thirteen games, and then the numerous issues, including not flying back with the team and then kicking a player. Just pathetic.

Nathaniel Hackett not only lasted longer than Meyer, but when he was an assistant in Jacksonville, the Jaguars were competitive. The Jaguars under Meyer were a dumpster fire, and thankfully for Trevor Lawerence, he is starting to show signs that he is indeed worthy of the No. 1 overall pick. Doug Pederson deserves the praise for saving Lawerence, and Meyer deserves the scorn as the worst coach in NFL History.
