2. Best fantasy football pickups for Week 17: RB Royce Freeman, Houston Texans

Rostered: 0.7%

Freeman did not have a strong performance on Saturday. He mustered only 32 rushing yards on 16 carries. Nevertheless, he did lead the Texans’ running backs in carries (17) and offensive snaps (37). Running back Dare Ogunbowale continues to play a role, as well, but he has only recorded eight touches in each of the last two games. With Dameon Pierce sidelined, Freeman has a clear path to touches for the remainder of the season. That fact alone gives him immense fantasy upside.

As for Freeman’s performance on Saturday, the Titans are allowing the fifth-fewest fantasy points per game to opposing running backs this season. His final two opponents will be the Jacksonville Jaguars and Indianapolis Colts. Both of those teams are in the top 11 in fantasy points per game allowed to opposing running backs. So, Freeman will be better positioned to succeed down the stretch.

Given his low rostered percentage, he is an excellent pickup in deeper leagues, and he is worth a look in all formats.
