30 best NFL free agents in 2023: James Bradberry, CB
We’re not yet done talking about the Eagles defense, but next up in a line of free agents they’ll have to decide on is cornerback James Bradberry. The former Pro Bowler is in the midst of what might be his best season yet, and is a huge part of one of the league’s best secondary units.
Thus far in 2022, Bradberry is allowing an opposing quarterback rating of just 42.2, which is by far the lowest of his career. He’s been phenomenal this season. This year’s campaign is coming at a great time, too, as last year was the worst year of Bradberry’s career. For perspective, in 2021, he gave up a passer rating of 93.0 and allowed eight passing touchdowns.
This year? He’s given up just one touchdown all season. It’s been a different story for the 29-year-old veteran. The Eagles will have many tough decisions to make this spring, especially on defense, and Bradberry isn’t the only defensive back they’ll have entering free agency.
Chances are, they won’t be able to keep all of the guys on this list. Bradberry might be in line for one more lucrative contract after his performance in 2022, and the Eagles could very well see him playing in a different uniform in 2023.
