Gervonta Davis was arrested for domestic violence.

According to Broward County arrest records obtained by FanSided, Gervonta Davis has been arrested for domestic violence.

His arrest is labeled as “battery-cause bodily harm” and according to the statute is described as “the offense of battery occurs when a person intentionally causes bodily harm to another person” and “A person who has one prior conviction for battery, aggravated battery, or felony battery and who commits any second or subsequent battery commits a felony of the third degree.”

According to TMZ, the arrest was made on late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning and he is still in police custody.

There’s no word on the identity of the victim but TMZ says, according to police, slapped a woman with a “closed hand” and left “an abrasion on the inside of her upper lip.” The outlet also revealed the incident is said to have occurred just before 2 p.m on Tuesday.

According to online records, no bail amount has been set yet. But ESPN confirmed with the courts that his bail was set at $1,000.

Davis is scheduled to fight Hector Luis Garcia on Jan.7 in Washington D.C., though that could change.

This is not the first time he’s been in trouble with the law. In 2020 he was famously caught on camera being “rough” with a woman at a celebrity basketball game.

This is a developing story and will be updated with more information when it’s made available.
