Georgia continues its quest to repeat as it faces Ohio State in the 2022 Peach Bowl for the College Football Playoff semifinal on Dec. 31.

The appetizers have been plentiful for the college football postseason as the bowl games have been going on for almost two weeks now. But in all honesty, it’s really been building up to the start of the College Football Playoff and the two semifinal matchups. With all due respect to TCU and Michigan, though, the main event of those two games is the 2022 Peach Bowl matchup between the Georgia Bulldogs and Ohio State Buckeyes.

Kirby Smart and the Dawgs come into the Playoff as the defending national champions and after a perfect 13-0 season that featured blowout wins over Oregon in the season-opener, in a massive showdown against Tennessee (more so than the final score might indicate after UGA sat on the ball late), and in the SEC Championship Game over LSU. Now they’re looking to complete the perfect season in their title defense.

As for Ohio State, Ryan Day and his team were a perfect 11-0 heading into the season finale against rival Michigan. Rather than completing the campaign without a loss, though, the Buckeyes got bullied by their hated rivals for the second straight year and fell in a 45-23 loss to the Wolverines, the first time losing in Columbus in The Game since 2000. However, Clemson losing to South Carolina in their own rivalry game and USC losing in the Pac-12 title game pushed OSU back into the College Football Playoff.

Between these two teams, there is elite talent all over the field, including two Heisman finalists with Georgia QB Stetson Bennett IV and Ohio State QB Marvin Harrison Jr. So what happens when they go toe-to-toe in Atlanta for the 2022 Peach Bowl? We have five bold predictions for the matchup to stay alive to win the natty.

Georgia vs Ohio State, Peach Bowl bold prediction No. 5: Marvin Harrison Jr. hauls in 2 TDs

Though most fans came into the season with all eyes on Jaxon Smith-Njigba as the star of the loaded Ohio State receiving corps, an injury in the season-opener against Notre Dame sidelined him for most of the year, including for the Peach Bowl. As such, another star had to take over as the top dog. Marvin Harrison Jr. didn’t hesitate to do so.

Harrison not only seemingly put up at least one highlight-reel catch every week but he dominated in the box score as well, finishing the season with 72 catches for 1,157 yards and 12 touchdowns. Now he’ll likely be seeing a lot of a huge matchup against potential 2023 first-round pick Kelee Ringo for Georgia.

This should be a fantastic battle for the entire CFP semifinal with wins by both players. Harrison, however, will make the most of at least a couple of his wins. He’s the type of talent that has proven he can’t be shut down an entirely and he’ll break two big plays to get into the end zone at least twice against the vaunted Dawgs defense.
