LeBron James shares just how frustrated he is with the state of the Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers are doing far less than favorable this season, and star LeBron James has shared his frustration with the team.
The Los Angeles Lakers are having a disappointing season with the third-worst record in the Western Conference (14-21). There are some evident issues among the team, and NBA star LeBron James has shared his frustration on the matter.
James made his NBA debut in the 2003-04 season with the Cleveland Cavaliers, and he’s quickly become one of the most well-known players in the league. He’s won four NBA championships in his career, and he’s frequented the playoffs.
As a veteran player, it’s understandable why he’d want to go to the playoffs again. After all, he should be a valuable asset on any winning team. The Lakers most recently won a championship in 2020, with James on the team. Things have drastically changed in such a short amount of time.
Why aren’t the Lakers doing as well this season?
The Lakers’ downward spiral began last season when they finished 11th-place in the Western Conference with a 33-49 record. They fired head coach Frank Vogel, but such a move has only proven to make the team suffer more.
Some of the core, including James, Anthony Davis and Patrick Beverley is still there. Russell Westbrook is still there, too, but he’s currently out with an injury which could be causing issues to an extent. However, there just isn’t overall roster construction and their offense hasn’t been favorable.
In fact, according to Dan Woike of the LA Times, Beverley “pointed to the Lakers shooting 26.5% from three-point range as a positive (considering they were shooting 21.1% heading into the game).”
James has also been scoring below his potential with a field goal percentage of 49.8, 3-point percentage of 29.7. He’s not playing nearly as well as he could be, which certainly isn’t helping the case for the Lakers.
There are several factors holding them back, and success won’t happen overnight.
