The Pittsburgh Steelers need the Miami Dolphins to lose in Week 18 to have a shot at the playoffs. The Dolphins received a good health update on one of their quarterbacks.

The Pittsburgh Steelers, despite starting the season 2-6, have a chance at making the playoffs in Week 18, something that seemed unfeasible. All they need to do is to defeat the Cleveland Browns in Week 18, and both the Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots to lose.

Miami is currently dealing with some quarterback issues, as Tua Tagovailoa is sidelined due to a concussion, while backup Teddy Bridgewater is dealing with an injury to his pinky finger. With that, that left the Dolphins with third-stringer Skylar Thompson as the supposed starter in their Week 18 game against the New York Jets.

Well, according to NFL Network national insider Ian Rapoport, Bridgewater’s pinky finger was dislocated, not broken like originally believed. So, there’s a chance that the veteran can play on Sunday as long as the swelling goes down and he can grip the football.

Dolphins receive positive update on QB Teddy Bridgewater

The Dolphins did make a move this week if Bridgewater was not able to play, and that was signing Mike Glennon, who started four games for the New York Giants last season.

Regardless of who starts at quarterback for the Dolphins, they are facing a tough Jets defense that allowed an average of 192.5 passing yards per game, the second best average in the entire league, per ESPN.

The Steelers are on a roll, winning five of their last six games. In fact, Pittsburgh saw rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett lead the team to game-winning drives in the closing seconds in their past two games against the Las Vegas Raiders and Baltimore Ravens. They enter Week 18 with an 8-8 record with a shot at the playoffs, and the chance for head coach Mike Tomlin to clinch a winning record for the 16th consecutive season.

Again, all the Steelers need to clinch the last Wild Card spot in the AFC is a win over the Browns, a Dolphins loss to the Jets, and a Patriots loss to the Buffalo Bills.
