There are two terrific primetime matchups in the NBA on Thursday night, and yours truly has a prop bet play for each of them.

Betting props allows you to focus on a sole player, or a smaller aspect than the full-game outcome.

In the Boston Celtics-Dallas Mavericks matchup, I have a player prop on a big man who should have a big game on the glass.

Then, in the night cap in Denver, we’re back in the best first quarter team in the NBA to get up early.

Let’s dive in:

Best NBA prop bets today record to date

Best NBA prop bets today

  • Al Horford OVER 5.5 Rebounds
  • Denver Nuggets 1Q Spread -2 vs. Los Angeles Clippers

Al Horford OVER 5.5 Rebounds

This is a favorable spot for Al Horford against the Dallas Mavericks, who rank dead last in the NBA in rebounding percentage this season.

Horford is averaging 6.1 rebounds per game, and I’ve been waiting for this number to drop to 5.5 all season long for him. He’s cleared 5.5 boards in 17 of his 29 games.

The Mavericks don’t have a ton of size in their rotation to use against Horford, and he’s been consistently around six rebounds all season long. Go OVER for him tonight.

Denver Nuggets 1Q Spread -2 (-110) vs. Los Angeles Clippers

The Denver Nuggets are +15.4 in first quarter net rating this season, and they’ve been an elite team at home, going 14-3 straight up at Ball Arena.

With Paul George listed as questionable for the Los Angeles Clippers, I think there’s value on taking Denver early. The Clippers are one of the worst offenses in the NBA (27th in offensive rating), and they have just a +1.8 net rating in first quarters this season.

Coming off of two days off, the Nuggets should be able to get out to fast start at home.
