The Buffalo Bills won an inspirational game for Damar Hamlin on Sunday over the New England Patriots. As of Monday, he’s heading home.
Damar Hamlin watched the Bills Week 18 win — which included two special teams touchdowns — from his hospital bed in Cincinnati. Considering all Hamlin has been through, a trip home just a day later is an incredible breakthrough.
Hamlin suffered a heart attack just a week ago on the field at PayCor Stadium, the home of the Bengals. The entire game was stopped as Hamlin fought for his life, and was eventually take to the University of Cincinnati hospital via ambulance. Fans and players from around football reached out to support Hamlin, with many donating to his charity, which has since topped $8 million.
On Sunday, Hamlin reached out to thank all who supported him via social media.
Putting love into the world comes back 3xs as much… thankful for everyone who has reached out and prayed. This will make me stronger on the road to recovery, keep praying for me! 🫶🏾3️⃣

Bills safety Damar Hamlin reveals he’s going home
Despite a clause in Damar Hamlin’s contract which would allow Buffalo to pay him less were he to land on injured reserve, the team has reportedly worked out an agreement with the league to fully guarantee his contract for this season.
#Bills S Damar Hamlin’s 4-year, $3.64M contract contains a standard split to pay him at a lower rate if he lands on Injured Reserve. This week, he was placed on IR. However, sources say Buffalo has worked out an agreement with the NFL and NFLPA to pay him in full.
