The Georgia Bulldogs and TCU Horned Frogs compete in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game on Monday. Here are five questions that could decide the game.
The 2022 college football season officially reaches its end on Monday, Jan. 9. At SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif, the Georgia Bulldogs will take on the TCU Horned Frogs for the CFP National Championship.
When it comes to Georgia, they know what it takes to win the whole thing, as they did so last year after defeating the Michigan Wolverines in the Orange Bowl and the Alabama Crimson Tide in the title game. They managed to reach the big game this year after narrowly defeating the Ohio State Buckeyes 42-41 in the Cotton Bowl.
The TCU Horned Frogs had long national championship odds entering the season, but they managed to win all but one game this season under new head coach Sonny Dykes. They made it into the Playoff and managed to defeat Michigan 51-45 in the Fiesta Bowl.
As predictions start flying hours before kickoff, fans, media and casual viewers will be asking what it’s going to take for either team to hoist the CFP National Championship trophy late Monday night? Here are five burning questions that may decide the game.
Georgia vs TCU: 5 burning questions that will decide the National Championship Game, No. 5: Will Kendre Miller and Darnell Washington play?
First things first — the potential inactive players. And both TCU and Georgia could both be without two of their biggest players on offense.
The Horned Frogs have placed a questionable tag on running back Kendre Miller. In the Fiesta Bowl, Miller suffered an injury that forced him out for the rest of the game. Miller confirmed to ESPN on Saturday that he is dealing with a sprained MCL in his right knee and that he’s “50-50” to play in the CFP National Championship Game.
This season, Miller ran for 1,399 yards and 17 touchdowns on 224 carries this season while catching 16 passes for 116 yards.
Meanwhile, Georgia could be without one of their top tight end options for the big game. Darnell Washington is considered a game-time decision as he deals with an ankle injury.
Ahead of Monday, Washington has 27 receptions for 426 yards and two touchdowns in 12 games.
