The 2022 NFL season is officially over, and as the playoffs begin, we look back at how quarterbacks fared over the year.

This NFL offseason is going to be wild when it comes to the quarterback position. Sure, it’s all about the postseason now, but looking ahead is an entertaining pastime until the playoffs kick off.

The year was a hectic one for several quarterbacks and their teams. In March, we will likely see a whole lot of movement at the position. Then in April, there will be a dogfight for the top two quarterback prospects in Bryce Young and C.J. Stroud.

Which teams will end up with the top prospects and which teams will go the veteran route? It’s sure going to be fun to follow.

For now, let’s review the 2022 season for each one of the league’s starters.

Ranking NFL quarterbacks based on 2022: 32. Zach Wilson, Jets

There probably isn’t a better argument for the worst starting quarterback this season than New York Jets second-year pro Zach Wilson. Let’s face it. He lost his job. He lost his team. He’s done in New York.

It was just about as bad a season as it could be for a second-year quarterback like Wilson, who was drafted second overall just two years ago now. Wilson finished with 1,688 yards, six touchdowns and seven interceptions in his nine starts this season.

The moment which completely blew it all for Wilson was after the Jets averaged a measly 2.7 inches per play in the second half against New England, late in November. He was asked after the game if he felt like he let his defense down, to which he responded, “no.”

From that moment on, it was all downhill. The writing was on the wall, and Wilson will no longer be a Jet in the near future.
