3 teams that should trade for Derek Carr
By Josh Wilson
Derek Carr will be available this offseason, and these teams should look at options to acquire him, whether through a trade or, eventually, a free agent.
This offseason will answer some “what’s nexts” for several NFL starting quarterbacks.
Will Aaron Rodgers try to force his way out of Green Bay? Could he possibly retire?
Will Tom Brady finally call it quits, return to the Bucs, or continue his lengthy NFL career with a third team?
Derek Carr is in the mix, too, almost certain to have played his last game for the Raiders. Carr was benched at the end of the season and has posted a farewell message on social media that indicates his time with the Las Vegas Raiders is all but done.
Carr can be traded, or the Raiders may release him. Either way, he’s going to be up for grabs this offseason. If any team has hopes of tapping into his talents and reinventing his career, they should look to trade for him before another team strikes. Or, they can wait and see if he’ll become available without having to give anything (aside from cap space) up.
These three teams could be suitors for Carr this offseason.
