Who do the Bills play next in the NFL Playoffs? [UPDATED]
By Josh Wilson
Coming into the Sunday Wild Card matchup, the Buffalo Bills were 14-point favorites over the Miami Dolphins. They didn’t live up to that expectation, even though the Dolphins had rookie backup quarterback Skylar Thompson under center instead of Tua Tagovailoa or Teddy Bridgewater.
The Bills jumped out to an early lead but played with their food throughout the game, always giving the Dolphins a chance to get back in it even down to the final few minutes. Eventually, they would come out with a win 34-31, stopping the Dolphins and forcing them to turn it over on downs in their final possession.
A win is a win, but it doesn’t inspire a ton of confidence given how talented the opponents they’ll have to get through in the AFC are if they want to make it to the Super Bowl.
So, with the Wild Card round conquered, what comes next for the Bills?
After Dolphins win, who do the Bills play next in the NFL playoffs?
The Bills will take the second-worst seed remaining in the AFC after the Wild Card round is completed. The Kansas City Chiefs, who secured the No. 1 seed and a first-week bye, will get the worst seed remaining.
With the Bengals coming out on top of the Ravens on the Sunday nightcap for Wild Card Weekend — a super one — that means it’ll be Cincinnati traveling to Buffalo next week for the Divisional Round matchup.
Bengals at Bills will kick off at 3 p.m. ET on Sunday, Jan. 22 for the playoff matchup and the game will be broadcast on CBS with the ineffable Jim Nantz and Tony Romo on the call.
