Donovan Mitchell is listed on the Cavs injury report for Friday, Jan. 20. Will he be able to play tonight against the Golden State Warriors?

Donovan Mitchell has been a game-changer for the Cleveland Cavaliers this season, averaging 28.4 points, 4.8 assists and 3.9 rebounds per game this season, on a career-high 62.3 true shooting percentage. However, he missed the Cavs’ loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday night and he’s listed on the Cavs injury report today as questionable with a left groin strain.

The Cavs are just 2-4 in games Mitchell hasn’t played this season and they’ll be taking on a mostly healthy Warriors team looking to bounce back from a 121-118 overtime loss to the Boston Celtics Thursday night. The Warriors will be on the second night of a back-to-back but having Mitchell on the court could be the difference for Cleveland.

Will Donovan Mitchell be able to play against the Warriors?

At this point, it’s not clear if Michell will be able to play but the Cavs may have an update as we get closer to the 7:30 p.m. ET tip time.

If Mitchell is unable to play, look for Isaac Okoro to start in his place. Okoro has struggled to carve out a consistent role in the Cavs’ offense with his shooting struggles. But he put up 17 points, including a perfect 6-of-6 from the field and 4-of-4 from beyond the arc on Wednesday against the Grizzlies. Darius Garland will also likely shoulder a larger offensive load. He put up 24 points and 14 assists against the Grizzlies, on 7-of-17 from the field and 5-of-11 from beyond the arc.

Ricky Rubio, Dean Wade and Dylan Windler are all listed as OUT on the Cavs’ injury report and are unlikely to play.
