Trae Young’s status on the Hawks injury report recently changed. Will he play on Friday, January 20?
Trae Young vs the New York Knicks… We need it!
After Young and the Knicks started to hate each other a few postseasons ago, these matchups between the Eastern Conference foes is pretty entertaining.
In the Hawks recent 8-point victory over the Mavericks, Young twisted his ankle coming down from a layup. He landed on a cameraman along the baseline.
While Young did get treatment in the locker room, It didn’t keep him from finishing out the game and putting up an 18-point performance, but it was enough to put him as day-to-day on the injury report.

Thankfully, despite some question over whether or not he would be able to go on January 20th, it looks like Young should be able to go on Friday night at home against the Knicks.
The Hawks announced that despite the soreness, Young is probable.
In addition to Young, Bogdan Bogdanovic is questionable.
This season, Young is averaging 27.2 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 9.8 assists per game on 42.4 percent shooting from the field and 32.9 percent shooting from beyond the arc. Young is third in assists per game and fourth in the league in assist points created (23.9).
Against the Knicks, Young has averaged 18.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 6.5 assists per game in two contests so far this year.
