Bold predictions for Chiefs vs. Jaguars: Trevor Lawrence keeps pace with Patrick Mahomes

Not only do the Jaguars keep the game close throughout, but the quarterbacks play tightly as well. Last weekend, Trevor Lawrence started his playoff career just about as bad as he could have. Throwing four interceptions in the first half against Los Angeles, people were calling Jacksonville frauds by halftime.

Lawrence was getting roasted on social media. The Jaguars looked dead in the water. But, Lawrence handled the adversity about as well as he could, battling back and accounting for four touchdowns in the win.

Speaking of four, that’s the same number of touchdowns Mahomes threw against the Jaguars in their first meeting a couple of months back. No one expects Mahomes to not “get his” in this game. He’ll certainly do so.

But, so will Lawrence. There’s a reason many believed this kid was the best quarterback prospect since Andrew Luck, and we’ve started to see that in his second season. He’s special, and Kansas City’s defense can be vulnerable at times.

Mahomes has a game, but so does Lawrence. Both quarterbacks go over 300 yards passing and three touchdowns.
