Warriors starting lineup tonight: Who goes with most of starters out?
By Josh Wilson
Who will start for the Warriors tonight against the Cleveland Cavaliers with most of the typical starters out due to injury?
The Golden State Warriors are finally about to finish up a five-game road trip against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday night. After losing to the Boston Celtics in overtime in Thursday, they’ll go up against another strong Eastern Conference team on their home floor the very next day.
Road trips can be draining, and with this being the final of a run of six, the Warriors are up against some sustained injuries and health management keeping their options limited.
Warriors injury report: What players are out on Friday against Cavs?
This is the list of the Warriors on the injury report, per Cyrus Saatsaz:
- Steph Curry: Out, hip tightness

- Andre Iguodala: Out, hip soreness
- Klay Thompson: Out, injury management

- James Wiseman: Out, ankle sprain

- JaMychal Green: Probable
That’s every starter but Poole out against the Cavs.
So, with that in mind, who will go instead?
Warriors starting lineup tonight vs Cavs, projected
Who will start tonight? We don’t know for sure just yet, but here’s the projection:
- Jordan Poole, PG
- Donte DiVincenzo, SG
- Moses Moody, SF
- Anthony Lamb, PF
- Kevon Looney, C
Maybe Steve Kerr has something up his bag of tricks?
While the Cavs are possibly going to be shorthanded with Donovan Mitchell, the Warriors are obviously are even worse off.
Aside from Poole who is a regular starter, no one has played that role consistently this season. The next-most started games this year after Poole is DiVincenzo at 11.
Golden State sits outside the playoff picture right now at 22-23 and ninth in the Western Conference. After Friday, the Warriors have a three-game homestand.
