The New York Giants were briefly without water in their hotel on Saturday morning ahead of their primetime divisional round NFL Playoff game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
That meant the team couldn’t get water from the tap for drinking or showering. A pipe bursted and caused the issue. It has since been fixed.
Sound like the start to a plotline of the latest season of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia? Yeah, kinda!
NFL Twitter had similar thoughts and came up with some jokes and theories for what really happened.
Fans are choosing to believe Philadelphians are conspiring to keep the Giants at a disadvantage
Sometimes, you have to do anything in your power to win. Even if that means messing with the pipes, right?
Welp, we now know they take the @giants seriously AGAIN!.. No water in the Hotel 🤣.. They've dusted off the old tricks manual. Fandom brings out the craziness..

It must have been hard to find a plumber willing to help out a division rival.

Some fans thought maybe fans went and ripped the pipes out themselves. It’s Philly, it’s not that far out there.

A funny piece of the narrative, but the pipes have been fixed according to Mike Garafalo. And though it might seem like an advantage to the Eagles, who knows, if the Giants smelled particularly ripe on the line, perhaps it hurts the Eagles’ focus.
The Eagles will host the Giants tonight at 8:15 p.m. ET.
