Eagles fans savage Odell Beckham Jr. after Giants tweet immediately backfires
By Mark Powell
Odell Beckham Jr. could be the class of the free-agent wide receiver market this offseason. His pro-Giants tweet prior to a first-half blowout is further proof he should sign elsewhere.
If Odell Beckham Jr. values winning above all else, then the New York Giants are not the team for him.
Yes, that’s a apocalyptic stretch given New York won a postseason game just last week and is matched up against arguably the best team in the NFC on Saturday night, but it’s not an absurd statement to say the Giants are more than a few pieces away.
OBJ would almost immediately slide in as the No. 1 wide receiver in New York. In a place like Dallas, for example, he’d be battling for reps behind CeeDee Lamb. But it’s that same depth with the Cowboys that gives OBJ a better chance to win, especially if he’s on another short-term deal. At 30 years old, his top priority should be winning.
Odell Beckham Jr.’s Giants tweet immediately backfires
Odell played for the G-Men from 2014-18, making the Pro Bowl in each of his first three seasons. Beckham Jr. was also involved in the infamous boat incident, which occurred the last time New York made the postseason prior to this year.
On Saturday night, OBJ tweeted that he was rooting for New York, while also taking a shot at the Eagles fan mantra, Fly Eagles Fly.
By halftime, New York was down 28-0, essentially taking the wind out of their sails.

But give Odell some credit, he’s willing to go down with the ship.
Should the Cowboys sign Odell Beckham Jr.?
If Dallas does sign OBJ, they should not waste many of their resources in doing so. The Cowboys have a number of tough decisions to make this offseason with their own soon-to-be free agents. Entering a standoff with Beckham Jr. isn’t worth nickel-and-diming their own.
