The San Francisco 49ers have advanced to the NFC Championship Game after defeating the Dallas Cowboys in the Divisional Round. Here’s who they will play.

The San Francisco 49ers overcame what many other teams couldn’t — injuries to multiple quarterbacks on the roster. Trey Lance was lost for the season after fracturing his ankle, and Jimmy Garopplo broke his foot in Week 13. They had rookie Brock Purdy take over, and he led the team to wins in every one of his starts, including in the Wild Card Round against the Seattle Seahawks.

In the Divisional Round, the 49ers have done it yet again.

On Sunday, the 49ers defeated the Dallas Cowboys 19-12. Coordinator DeMeco Ryan’s defense held Dallas’ offense to just 282 yards (206 passing, 76 rushing), and intercepted two passes from Dak Prescott. Plus a circus catch by tight end George Kittle provided the spark the 49ers offense needed and set up a go-ahead touchdown run by Christian McCaffrey early on in the fourth quarter.

So, who is San Francisco playing in the NFC Championship Game?

Who will 49ers play in NFC Championship Game?

The team standing in the way of the 49ers reaching Super Bowl 57 are the Philadelphia Eagles, the No. 1 seed in the NFC.

The Eagles had the best record in the entire conference, as quarterback Jalen Hurts had an MVP-caliber season. Not to mention they have an electric rushing attack, top pass catching options in DeVonta Smith, A.J. Brown, and Dallas Goedert, and a defense that knows how to get to and pressure the quarterback.

Philadelphia played their first playoff game this past Saturday, where they ran all over the New York Giants for 268 yards in the 38-7 victory.

The last time the 49ers and Eagles faced off in the playoffs was back in the 1996 season. San Francisco picked up the 14-0 victory over Philadelphia in their Wild Card Round matchup following a rushing touchdown from Steve Young and a passing touchdown to Jerry Rice.
