3 Jaguars who won’t be back next year and best options to replace them

Jacksonville Jaguars might let Marvin Jones Jr. walk ahead of his age-33 season
A big reason why the Jaguars had such a turnaround this past season was because of how well the front office addressed the receiving corps. They brought in a ton of talented players, but with cap issues mounting, it would not be shocking if they let Marvin Jones Jr. walk. He could return on a cheap, team-friendly deal, but he will be 33 years old ahead of next season. Jones might be done.
Look. The Jaguars will try to prioritize bringing back offensive tackle Jawaan Taylor if they can afford to, as well giving tight end Evan Engram a new deal. Given that he had a breakout season in Jacksonville, he could he could have priced himself out of Duval as well. However, if one pass-catcher had to go off this past year’s Jaguars team, the smart money would be on Jones walking.
There is also another good reason why it might serve the Jaguars to move on from Jones anyway…
Jacksonville Jaguars did trade for Calvin Ridley, so they might as well use him
The Jaguars did not trade for Calvin Ridley for nothing. It was weird when it happened, but Jacksonville was able to land the suspended wide receiver formerly of the Atlanta Falcons at the deadline. When he is on the field, Ridley is every bit a No. 1 wide receiver. Gambling cost him the better part of two years in his prime, but perhaps a change of scenery will do him a world of good?
If Ridley can be half of what he was during his best days in Atlanta, Jacksonville got a total gem at wide receiver in a contract year. Of course, the Jaguars could cut Ridley to save some money, but they did not trade for him not to play him. One would think head coach Doug Pederson will figure out a way to get Ridley the ball when he is on the field. This would be so huge for Trevor Lawrence.
Wide receiver is not an issue for the Jaguars this offseason, but they can afford to lose Jones here.
