Rams, sports world offers condolences to lives lost in Monterey Park shooting.
Another mass shooting has occurred in the United States. This time during a Lunar New Year celebration in Monterey Park, a city located less than 10 miles from Downtown Los Angeles.
The shooting took place overnight and occurred at approx 10 p.m. PT inside a Chinese-owned ballroom dance studio, the BBC reported. The shooter has been described as an “adult Asian male” and may have shot himself on Sunday afternoon following a police standoff in Torrence, though details are still coming out at press time.
Several sports teams based in Los Angeles including the Los Angeles Rams, the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Los Angeles Kings have shared their condolences to the victims of the shooting.

The Los Angeles Lakers also tweeted writing, “Our hearts go out to the victims of last night’s senseless act of violence in Monterey Park. The Lakers organization mourns with those who lost loved ones in this tragedy and all those affected in our community.”

10 people were killed in the attack, five men and five women. Another 10 people have been reported injured as well.
