Breaking down the NBA schedule today for Monday, Jan. 23 with a look at the NBA games on the slate, the key players to watch and more. 

After a wild weekend of NBA games that featured fights, near-fights, Shannon Sharpe and plenty more, the league is really starting to hit its stride. Now we have the NBA schedule for today on Monday, Jan. 23 that should get things rolling.

There’s only one national game on the Monday slate as the Sacramento Kings will host the Memphis Grizzlies with the broadcast on NBA TV. That’s the only matchup between two true playoff contenders right now, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t any games that League Pass subscribers shouldn’t be hoping to tune in for.

So let’s look at the NBA games on today’s NBA schedule and see what we’re in store for.

• Milwaukee Bucks at Detroit Pistons – 7:00 p.m. ET
• Boston Celtics at Orlando Magic – 7:00 p.m. ET
• Atlanta Hawks at Chicago Bulls – 8:00 p.m. ET
• Minnesota Timberwolves at Houston Rockets – 8:00 p.m. ET
• Charlotte Hornets at Utah Jazz – 9:00 p.m. ET
• San Antonio Spurs at Portland Trail Blazers – 10:00 p.m. ET
• Memphis Grizzlies at Sacramento Kings – 10:30 p.m. ET (NBA TV)

It’s quite an enticing slate of games on the docket, even if they aren’t the most high-profile matchups. The Grizzlies and Kings facing off in the latest game of the night should be huge with De’Aaron Fox and Ja Morant, assuming he plays as he’s listed as Day-to-Day, squaring off in a matchup between Western Conference playoff teams.

Meanwhile, the matchup between MVP candidate Jayson Tatum and rookie Magic star Paolo Banchero is going to be fun. The same will be true as Trae Young tries to find the Hawks’ mojo again against Zach Lavine and a Bulls team that is trying to find its own way still but has looked better of late.

Injuries will also be a big storyline, though, as LaMelo Ball remains out for the Hornets and Giannis Antetokounmpo is out for the Bucks. Anthony Edwards will also face an increased workload still with Karl-Anthony Towns and Rudy Gobert out for the Timberwolves in their matchup with the Rockets as Minnesota tries to stay in the playoff race.
