The Baseball Hall of Fame is in Cooperstown, New York, and the next round of inductees will be announced on Tuesday.

As an avid baseball fan myself, if you haven’t had a chance to visit the National Baseball HOF, I cannot recommend it enough. Not only is it a walk through history’s complicated relationship with the sport, it also provides a walk through time that even the average fan can love.

Cooperstown itself is a quaint upstate New York town that seemingly hasn’t changed with time. There are numerous breweries, restaurants and bed and breakfasts, as well as a downtown area that captures the local flavor.

The Baseball Hall is in beautiful Cooperstown, New York. The museum itself is on Main Street. Per the website, “since opening its doors more than 80 years ago, the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum has been dedicated to preserving history, honoring excellence and connecting generations.”

Why is the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown?

Cooperstown was the hometown of Abner Doubleday, who at one point was credited with inventing the game of baseball. Of course, that has since been disproven, as several versions of baseball were in circulation during Doubleday’s day. Today, the Baseball Hall of Fame is best known for its museum and being the location of the induction ceremony every year.

When is the Baseball Hall of Fame induction ceremony?

The 2023 Hall of Fame class will be inducted on Sunday, July 23 at the Clark Sports Center in Cooperstown. The ceremony itself will start at 1:30 p.m. ET. At this time, it’s unknown how many inductees there will be, as that is announced on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2023. The ceremony will be broadcast on MLB Network.
