Uber Eats delivery wildly interrupts Duquesne-Loyola basketball game (Video)

College basketball games have been delayed for a number of reasons over the years, but Duquesne-Loyola Chicago having an Uber Eats stoppage is a new one.

Injuries, unruly fans, leaks in the arena ceiling, and so on — there are many reasons why college basketball games (and NBA games, for that matter) have been paused or delayed. Wednesday night’s matchup with the Duquesne Dukes hosting the Loyola-Chicago Ramblers, however, gave us what is certainly a new one.

Early in the second half, while the Dukes and Ramblers were locked in a tight game, the broadcast showed someone who was definitely not a player walking across the corner of the baseline and even stepping onto the court.

It turns out, it was an Uber Eats delivery person trying to just get someone their food.

Uber Eats delivery causes college basketball delay

Soon after he got onto the court, the game was stopped and the delivery person was left still searching for someone to give the food to. Even better was the commentary of the moment as the broadcasters nailed a truly unprecedented moment.

And for those of you worried about the plight of the Uber Eats delivery gone wrong, the food was in fact delivered. Making this all the more surreal, though, is the fact that a Division I college basketball game was interrupted and stopped because someone had to get their McDonald’s delivered.

If they don’t include the Uber Eats delivery in One Shining Moment at the conclusion of March Madness, we’ll know that this country is truly lost. There is no moment shining quite like this one.
