3 reasons Cowboys drafting Bijan Robinson wouldn’t be a mistake
1. Bijan Robinson is a damn good football player who will help the Cowboys
Let’s not forget the most important part about the draft and who is selected: Bijan Robinson is extremely talented and has the potential to be a star in the NFL, particularly in an offense like the Cowboys.
Robinson checks all the boxes you want. He’s big, he has impressive speed and burst for a player his size, his vision and balance are off the charts, and he’s also an effective pass-catcher. He’s quite literally everything that an NFL team could want in a franchise-caliber running back and, of course, in a back worthy of being drafted in the first round.
In his final season with the Texas Longhorns, the offense went as far as Robinson took them. He carried the rock 258 times for 1,580 yards (6.1 yards per carry) with 18 touchdowns while also catching 19 passes for 314 yards, all of which were career-bests.
Given his versatility and prowess as both a runner and pass-catcher, Robinson could very easily give the Cowboys a between-the-tackles type player like Zeke combined with a movable and dangerous threat like Pollard. Yes, he’d still need some depth behind him to give him a breather at times, but he’s the total package.
For a team that clearly needs more weapons, they don’t get much better than Bijan Robinson. If he’s there at No. 26 and the Cowboys take him, Dallas is getting a bonafide stud, and it’s always hard to be mad at that.
