By Ian Levy
Breaking down the NBA schedule for Monday, Jan. 30 including all the biggest games and most important players to watch.
It’s a crowded night on the NBA schedule with eight games to be played. However, there are no real marquee matchups other than an unexpectedly star-less game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets.
Here’s everything you need to know to watch and what to look for.
NBA schedule: NBA games, start times and players to watch today, Jan. 30
- Orlando Magic at Philadelphia 76ers – 7:00 p.m. ET
- Los Angeles Lakers at Brooklyn Nets – 7:30 p.m. ET (NBATV)
- Sacramento Kings at Minnesota Timberwolves – 8:00 p.m. ET
- Golden State Warriors at Oklahoma City Thunder – 8:00 p.m. ET
- Washington Wizards at San Antonio Spurs — 8:00 p.m. ET
- Detroit Pistons at Dallas Mavericks – 8:30 p.m. ET
- Toronto Raptors at Phoenix Suns – 9:00 p.m. ET
- Atlanta Hawks at Portland Trail Blazers – 10:00 p.m. ET (NBATV)
Los Angeles Lakers at Brooklyn Nets
The Lakers will be continuing their East coast road trip with what should be a tough game against the Nets. However, the game will be made tougher by the fact that both LeBron James (ankle) and Anthony Davis (foot) will be out of the lineup. Kevin Durant will be sitting for the Nets as he recovers from MCL sprain. Ben Simmons is questionable with left knee soreness. All that sets up a game where Kyrie Irving could have the national spotlight and free reign. Smells like another 50-point game?
Toronto Raptors at Phoenix Suns
As the trade deadline approaches, the Raptors are on the West coast hunting for wins, rhythm, or anything that might help them decide what to do a week from now. Essentially every key player on the team has been mentioned in trade rumors but they’re reportedly willing to wait until the last possible moment to decide on a course of action. The Suns, meanwhile, are a prime trading partner for the Raptors and would love to get a closer look at any one who could help them stay afloat in the Western Conference until Devin Booker returns.
