The Chiefs are back in the Super Bowl yet again. All time, how many Super Bowls have they won?

The Kansas City Chiefs are quickly becoming regulars in the Super Bowl. After defeating the Cincinnati Bengals by three even with Patrick Mahomes playing on a bad ankle, they are back in the Super Bowl for the third time in four years.

They’ll be facing up against the Philadelphia Eagles who have been present in recent Super Bowl history as well.

Looking at the Chiefs’ history — which goes back to the AFL days before the Super Bowl era — how many Super Bowls have they won?

How many times have Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl?

The Chiefs have won two Super Bowls. Most fans will remember the Kansas City Chiefs winning Super Bowl LIV to conclude the 2019 season. Before that, the last time the Chiefs won, and the only time before that, was in 1969.

In the ’69 season, the Chiefs went 11-3 and were led to the title by Super Bowl-winning quarterback Len Dawson, who passed in August at the age of 87. They beat the Jets, Raiders, and then the Vikings in the Super Bowl.

The only other Super Bowl the team appeared in was Super Bowl I, which they lost to Bart Starr and the Green Bay Packers, 35-10.

To add to their history, the team won an AFL Championship in 1962 before the NFL merger and the start of the Super Bowl era.

So, while we may be getting a look at the start of a dynasty in KC or even with Philadelphia, neither of these teams even has enough rings to fill five fingers between them if we add their franchise totals up. It’s good to see teams other than the legacy ones getting in on the winnings.
