Eagles offensive lineman indicted on rape, kidnapping charges

The following story may contain potential trauma triggers. A Philadelphia Eagles lineman, Josh Sills, has been indicted. His charges are for rape and kidnapping.

First reported by TMZ, Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman Josh Sills has been indicted on rape and kidnapping charges. The charges are in Guernsey County, Ohio. Sills grew up in Ohio.

Here’s what TMZ reported:

"Officials allege that Sills — a rookie reserve lineman for the Eagles who made the team this year as an undrafted free agent — “engaged in sexual activity that was not consensual and held a victim against her will.”Prosecutors say the Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation into the case — and a grand jury eventually indicted Sills on one felony count of rape and one felony count of kidnapping this week."

The incident, according to the court records, occurred, “on or about the 5th day of December, 2019.” It also goes on to say in regards to the kidnapping charge, “on or about the 5th day of December, 2019, in the county of Guernsey aforesaid, did, by force, threat or deception, remove M,M from the place where she was found or restrain the liberty of her for the purpose of facilitating the commission of a felony, to with: Rape.

According to the indictment, Sills is being summoned to appear in court in Cambridge, Ohio on February 16th, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. ET.

Sills, a rookie, is not a starter for the Eagles and has played just four snaps this season.

The Super Bowl takes place on February 12th.
